Vineyard Manager, Chris Bowland started his farming career growing great Pinot Noir in the Russian River Valley, so when he planted the varietal in cool Bennett Valley we knew he was on to something. 3 distinct blocks of Pommard are picked together at different sugars and co-fermented . The result is a natural field blend that represents the whole vineyards unique character. Chris' attention to detail makes this the perfect match with our philosophy. The appellation is nestled between 3 mountain peaks trapping the early morning fog. The volcanic history of the valley has deposited eroded lava and tuff, providing good drainage. Moaveni Vineyard is the perfect combination of volcanic and alluvial soils.
